Mr Ian Smith is appointed as an NHS Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and works at Leeds General Infirmary. Mr Smith is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. After initially training in Maxillofacial Surgery in Birmingham, Mr Smith commenced his higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery and has trained throughout the Yorkshire region. He has also undertaken a 12 month fellowship in Adelaide at the internationally renowned Australian Craniofacial Unit and a further 12 month Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology at The Royal Brisbane Hospital, Australia.
Mr Smith’s NHS practice consists of all aspects of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. For a major part of his NHS appointment Mr Smith specialises in oncological surgery and reconstruction, including complex sarcoma surgery. Mr Smith has a special interest in a full range of cosmetic surgery including cosmetic facial surgery, aesthetic surgery of the breast, body contouring surgery and non-surgical enhancement treatments. He is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC). Mr Smith’s Private Practices are based at The Spire Hospital, Roundhay, Leeds and The Nufffield Hospital in Leeds. He provides regular operating and consultation clinics at both hospitals.
